Rely on Christ

Synonym: Depend on confidently; put trust in.

“If men walk in darkness, without one ray of light, let them trust the Lord, let them rely upon their God. See here, you who live in your own light, and warm yourselves from your own fires, not from God’s, you will live among sorrows.”

Anytime I have spent a season of my life without the light of the Lord Jesus, it has led to disappointment for myself and those around me.

I realize that the mental picture of sitting by a fire is impossible during our unusually warm summer, but go there with me. “Warm yourself with your own fires” provoked a reflection in my heart and mind. These are questions I asked myself:

Is Christ my daily focus?
Is Christ my “Go-To”?
Is Christ my Passion?
Is Christ my confidence?
Is Christ my daily advisor?

Is Christ the fire that warms me daily?

I need Christ’s warmth now at 84 years much more than years ago when I began a journey with Him. I encourage you readers to start or continue a relationship with Christ today and experience sitting by the warmth and light of His fire.
